Help Us Support H.R. 5735
Join UNYC in supporting the Protecting Girls’ Right to Education in Vulnerable Setting Act (H.R.5735). According to Better World Council: there are 65 million forcibly displaced people worldwide today. Half of refugees are under the age of 18 and only 50% of those are enrolled in primary school, with an even smaller number enrolled in secondary school. Please support the Act by clicking the link to the right.
With the help of Yoobi and Embrace Relief, UNYC Dallas is raising funds to help provide school supplies to Syrian Al Rahma Education Center in Uskudar, Istanbul. This is a private school in Turkey providing education to the children of displaced Syrians living in Istanbul. The facility is currently serving 250 students in total in two separate sessions (elementary grades in the morning, and middle and high school students in the afternoon.) UNYC is grateful to both Yoobi for their deep discounting of school supplies and Embrace Relief for providing the platform for our committee to help displaced children from Syria in Turkey.
