What are the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
Imagine…. Imagine you are hungry.
Imagine you lived in a place where there wasn’t enough food for you and your brother and sister. You are hungry. Imagine you had to walk a long distance every day to fill a jug with water and take it back home for your family to drink. Imagine soldiers in your neighborhood that would knock on your door and tell your family to leave your village or else they will burn your house down. If you leave your village, where would you go to school tomorrow?
Sometimes it is hard to imagine these problems.
In parts of our world, you wouldn’t have to imagine. This could be real life for some children.
Sustainable Development Goals are a way to improve life for millions of children (and adults) around the world. In their own way, each member state in the UN will implement the SDGs.
Whether it’s food, water, education, public health or clean air and water, SDSs will help us make life better for the world’s children and the generations that follow.
